"Light funky rhythms, gorgeous melodies and introspective lyrics make this singer songwriter a winner."-Duke Eatmon, CBC Montreal
Annette's sparkling songwriting puts this effort alongside the best of contemporary performers like Shawn Colvin. The hook-filled "Let You Go" is one of the catchiest songs this year.-Mark Rheaume, CBC Radio
Folk rock singer songwriter Annette Campagne has been writing and performing for over 25 years. Singing in both English and French, her work with the group Hart Rouge boasts an impressive list of accomplishments: seven albums and several commercial radio hits and tours across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. This paved the way for her solo career, where she released another three albums.
Annette proves she is the quintessential Canadian artist; the straight-shooting poet of a prairie girl who has seen the world but who revels in her prairie roots. She's the hip, urban musician standing in a field of wheat singing about heartbreak and the thrill of new beginnings; about the refusal to compromise; about fury and forgiveness.
Her most recent album, "You gotta laugh", is full of rough guitars, beautiful vocals, strong melodies and powerful lyrics. It is smooth and soulful with a hit of big sky country, the work of an artist whose mettle has been tested.
She strives to create a 'comfortable connectedness' and a 'feel good' atmosphere with her songwriting. Her songs are positive, not in a 'fleur bleu/everything is wonderful" way, but one based in a faith-infused reality and self- empowering optimism.

The Love Machine Project
Candice Anitra & Mustafa Effortless are The Love Machine Project. Equal parts left-of-soul songstress and consciousness-raising emcee, this dynamic duo bridged the east and west coasts to birth their brand of ephemeral Tina-Turner-meets-Guru-mannered alien pop. Musical planetary alignment is rare but with technology on their side the two volleyed new material back and forth across country non-stop for weeks in the fall of 2012. Upon composing each of the love letters to love featured on their debut Love Machine EP in her Brooklyn love nest, singer-songwriter-producer-alchemist Candice Anitra knew they were incomplete without the touch of Los Angeles-based, Uptown-raised, actor, musician, director, poet and fellow warrior of light Mustafa Shakir (aka Mustafa Effortless, or M*E), whom she had known for more than a decade after performing together in Kamal Sinclair's Off-Broadway The Beat, called "Hip-Hop's theatrical revolution." After adding his deep and witty verses to Anitra's tracks, Candice and Mustafa teamed with super producer-engineer Joel Hamilton (Pretty Lights, Black Keys, Matisyahu, Dub Trio), bassist Brady Watt (Talib Kweli, Res, Curren$y), guitarist Wes Mingus (Wu-Tang Clan, The Revelations), and drummer Jason Mills (Stomp, Beetroot) to fill out the recordings' sound at Studio G in Brooklyn. The songs in this collection embrace, honor, and extol the full spectrum of what it means to be human, embrace the alien, and spread love along the way.... and for the duo this is only the beginning!

Fresh on the Net described Burning Condors' debut single 'Honey Trap' as "...dirty in a good way..."whilst God is in the TV hailed "...a howling haunted victim of love no more". Joyzine was equally impressed, describing Burning Condors' sound as using "...a modern art punk filter to come up with something fresh and new. Imagine Nick Cave sipping whiskey with John Spencer in a Hoxton dive bar."
The "Condors" are a Four piece British band once described ever so eloquently by one muso journo as "…what Blur would have sounded like if they grew up listening to Carl Perkins". London four piece Burning Condors took flight when Marcus Thompson left his roots of Bradford and moved south to the capital to find acting work and met band mates Matthew Edun and the boy Churchy.
With Marcus influenced by British acts like Joy Division and Bowie and Matthew an old school blues nut, the pair introduced each other to their record collections to create a noise which led one reviewer to gush - 'Burning Condors have distilled the essence of the blues, added a dash of rockabilly swagger and forced it through a modern art punk filter to come up with something fresh and new'.
After cutting their teeth on the London gigging scene, they earned a break with a run of support slots for Punk Blues favourites Legendary Shack Shakers. After seeing Burning Condors strut live, Shack Shakers' double bassist and Producer Mark Robertson invited the boys out to his studio in Nashville, Tennessee to cut their debut album. The record also features the talents of Col JD Wilkes (Dirt Daubers) and Dave Roe (Johnny Cash's band 'Tennesse Three') and is released at the end of 2013.
Although our sound naturally draws comparisons to bands from the other side of the Atlantic, we are most definitely a product of our environment and wear our London roots loudly and proudly on our sleeves.
No fake tales of San Francisco. Burning Condors are the real deal.
Debut album 'Round Our Way' is due for release September 2013.

The journey from a deeply held dream to its realization is never easy, seldom rapid. After many years of writing, producing and recording the music that is so very much a part of her DNA, singer /songwriter Joy Mover is taking her first giant step toward actualizing her lifelong vision with the 2012 release of her self-titled debut, Joy Mover.
To say that Joy's roots are steeped in music is an understatement. Beginning with her great- grandfather, through her maternal and paternal grandparents and uncles, followed by her parents, brother and cousin, Joy's family has long been populated with professional musicians and singers. Her father, Jimmy, like his father before him, is a trumpeter. He played with several big band greats of his era including Tommy Dorsey, Charlie Spivak, Horace Heidt, Ina Ray Hutton and Jerry Wald and has appeared on a number of national television shows playing his theremin, including "The Tonight Show," "Ernie Kovaks Show" and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." He also played the theremin background music for the horror classic "Lights Out" radio show hosted by Robert Stack. Joy's mother, Barbara, a vocalist and actress in NYC at the time, was singing with Al Donahue's big band when her parents first met.

I attended a Theatre magnet school for high school. I took music theory and, although, I started writing songs when I was maybe seven years old, I credit this teacher for helping me jump-start into songwriting. I studied “Garage Band” and now use “Logic”. I have gathered a serious collection of recording gear and am always upgrading my equipment. Frankly, I've always heard the melodies in my head, sometimes the lyrics are there at the same time, but occasionally, the lyrics come in a little later. My best pieces are created in a fifteen minute window. The songs that I have to struggle with or suitcase for a while and revisit, never seem "finished". It seems that we have always had a piano in the house, so it's been a natural for me to sit and write at the piano. Lately, we have moved and I haven't had a piano around so, in conjunction with taking vocal lessons with Jan Smith, I asked her to show me some chords etc. on the guitar. It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it, but I am a Type A and didn’t quit until I felt semi-comfortable on the guitar. I'm not ready to rock a show, but it helps me write. I wrote a song "One Last Kiss (Seal the Deal)" and in 2008, it rose to #24 on Billboard’s Dance Chart. I performed this at a variety of places around LA and Vegas. And have done performed this song for some charity work also. I didn't do a lot to promote the songs - I didn't tour - the rise on the Billboard Charts just happened. I have played a lot of the casinos in Vegas and a couple of sold out shows in LA, I've even sung at the White House....yep, that White House!
